Double challenge of 21 and 26 km for the running event most eagerly awaited by locals from Fiemme and Fassa and by international runners. A spectacular route, inspired by the famous cross-country skiing race

Saturday 5 September, it is the turn of the Marcialonga Running Coop to bring the trio of Marcialonga events to a close on a route that follows the historic cross-country skiing race. Two distances, a large crowd cheering them on, one shared thrill: 26.5 km from Moena to Cavalese for the classic route; 21 km to Masi di Cavalese for those who prefer the half-marathon. One of the unique features of the event is the option to take part as a relay team: teams of three (men, women or mixed) can cover the route in stages of 10 km, 8 km and 8 km, with part of the entry fee being donated to a charity. In previous editions, it was the Kenyan runners who dominated, whilst amongst the women the Italian runners have excelled. In the relay, on the other hand, it is often the teams from Northern Europe that come out on top.

The departure is at 4.30 pm from Piaz de Sotegrava, in the centre of Moena. From here, the runners embark on a picturesque route through the iconic landmarks of the Val di Fassa and Fiemme, passing: the ‘Stalimen’ ski jump stadium; the villages of Predazzo, Ziano and Panchià, along the cycle and footpath; the cross-country skiing centre at Lago di Tesero; the halfway point at Masi di Cavalese for the half marathon; and the final 5 km uphill to Cavalese, where Miss Soreghina will welcome the winners.

The Punto Tifo in Forno di Moena (16:30–17:30) with a DJ set in front of the Reinhard Bar/Café will liven up the atmosphere for all attendees. After the finish, the fun continues with a pasta party, the prize-giving ceremony and live music.

An show in the open air where planets, aerial acrobatics and stilt-walkers transform the squares into a universe to explore

And what if, all of a sudden, the solar system were to come and stroll amongst us? It is from this inspiration that Viaggio Cosmico was born – the Luca Piallini theatre company’s spectacular open-air show, in which stilt-walkers, aerial dance, music and poetry transform the square into a universe waiting to be discovered.
Led by an enigmatic Atlas standing over three metres tall, the performers draw the audience into a wordless narrative made up of encounters, gestures and huge suspended planets. The spheres become worlds to imagine; the Sun and the Moon take shape before the audience’s eyes; and the Earth, suspended in the air, reminds us of the extraordinary beauty of our planet.
A visually striking show, in which acrobatics, dance and street theatre intertwine to create a poetic experience that invites you to look up at the sky with the wonder of a child.

A guided excursion to explore the Geo Park at Col Margherita, offering a chance to delve into the history and geology of the Dolomites, amongst volcanoes, glaciers, islands, seabeds and fossil remains

The Col Margherita Geo Park, created in collaboration with MUSE in Trento, is a fascinating theme park at an altitude of 2,500 metres that takes visitors of all ages on a journey to the origins of the Earth, exploring the geological history of the Dolomites. A captivating journey that invites you to explore ancient seabeds and take a leap back in time 290 million years, to when violent volcanic eruptions shaped the landscape, giving rise to the characteristic reddish-brown rocks of the Col Margherita porphyry plateau. When you reach the summit by cable car from Passo San Pellegrino, you are treated to a breathtaking 360° panorama of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Meeting point: at 10.00 in front of the little church of Sant’Antonio at Passo San Pellegrino. A short walk to the cable car departure station. Return at around 1.00 pm. Difficulty: easy.

Price: €27 for adults, €13 for children aged 4 to 12. The cost of the cable car is to be paid by the participants. The following are valid: the Panorama Pass and the Dolomiti Supersummer for the ski lifts and the Val di Fassa Guest Card for any public transport from Moena to Passo San Pellegrino. Places are limited. Sportswear and walking shoes are required. We recommend bringing a small rucksack containing a windproof/waterproof jacket and a bottle of water. Lunch as a packed lunch or at a mountain hut.
